Senior Tax Accountant

Position Description

Brantley Janson, a CPA and advisory firm founded in 1976, is seeking a Tax Accountant Senior/Supervisor to join our team. We provide public accounting, tax and advisory services to individuals and diverse clients in private industry. The Senior Accountant position offers a tremendous degree of variety in a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare individual, business, fiduciary and partnership tax returns
  • Tax planning, projections, and research of tax-related issues

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Intense attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, tax research, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to evaluate, identify and execute proposed solutions to problems
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), experience with CCH prosystemsFx desired
  • Flexible work schedule from January to April with required overtime

Education, Training &/or Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • 3+ years of recent public accounting experience
  • CPA license or CPA candidate

Brantley Janson, a CPA and advisory firm founded in 1976, is seeking an Audit Manager to join our team. The firm has a wide variety of clients with concentrations in construction, real estate, distribution, employee benefit plans, and not-for-profits. Experience with some or all of those industries are preferred. The Audit Supervisor/Manager will assist with various attest and review engagements, including planning, executing and completing financial statement audits, reviews and compilations as well as research and analysis of accounting issues for financial statements. The Audit Manager also has significant responsibility for the development of the Staff Accountants and Audit Seniors, maintaining the Firm’s quality control system, and meeting the Firm’s goals.

Responsibilities will include:
• Assist in developing plans for and conducting accounting, compilation, review or audit engagements
• Review work papers for audits, reviews and compilations.
• Prepare financial statements and notes including presentation to clients.
• Have in-depth knowledge of Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards.

Education, Training &/or Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• 5+ years public accounting experience
• CPA certification or in process
• Understanding of audit services with knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and FASB regulations
• Proficiency using audit software, preferably CCH Engagement, Excel, Word and Outlook
