We provide public accounting, tax and advisory services to individuals and diverse clients in private industry. Our Accountants enjoy a tremendous degree of variety in a collaborative work environment with training, mentoring and support.

Responsibilities will include:
Managers are vital members of our tax practice who advise clients on corporate, partnership, individual and trust and estate tax services. In this role, you will review a variety of individual, business, fiduciary and partnership tax returns along with supporting our clients via tax planning and projections. In addition you may prepare intricate tax returns and research complex tax-related issues. In this role you will also strengthen client relationships, develop new business and serve as a coach to less tenured employees.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Prior public accounting experience required
• Attention to detail
• Strong analytical, tax research, problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to evaluate, identify and execute proposed solutions to problems
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), experience with CCH proSystem fx or Axcess desired
• Flexible work schedule with required overtime from January to April

Education, Training &/or Certification:
• CPA license
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• 6+ years of recent public accounting experience

Brantley Janson is seeking an Audit Senior / Supervisor (DOE) to join our team. The firm has a wide variety of clients with concentrations in construction, real estate, distribution, employee benefit plans, and not-for-profits. Experience with some or all of those industries are preferred. The Audit Senior / Supervisor will assist with various attest and review engagements, including planning, executing and completing financial statement audits, reviews and compilations as well as research and analysis of accounting issues for financial statements.

Responsibilities will include:
• Assist in developing plans for and conducting accounting, compilation, review or audit engagements
• Review work papers for audits, reviews and compilations.
• Prepare financial statements and notes including presentation to clients.
• Have in-depth knowledge of Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards.

Education, Training &/or Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• 3+ years accounting experience, public accounting preferred
• CPA certification or in process
• Understanding of audit services with knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and FASB regulations
• Proficiency using audit software, preferably CCH Engagement, Excel, Word and Outlook

Brantley Janson, a leading local Certified Public Accounting and advisory firm is looking for an experienced bookkeeper with solid QuickBooks knowledge and excellent communication skills. The ability to manage deadlines while working directly with multiple clients in various industries with a variety of accounting issues is required. The ideal candidate is a positive team player who is excited about client bookkeeping support as we work together to exceed client expectations.

Duties include:

Performs all duties associated with full charge bookkeeping and financial reporting, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
Prepares Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and other financial documents.
Records financial transactions in accounting software.
Maintains monthly general ledgers including chart of accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
Reconciles bank accounts and other general ledger accounts to sub ledger balances or other supporting documentation.
Prepares and enters journal entries as needed, including depreciation, amortization and payroll journal entries.
Processes accounts payable for multiple clients.
Processes payroll and makes deposits for multiple clients
Organizes after-the-fact accounting and payroll records provided by clients.
Prepares payroll tax returns including federal returns and state withholding and unemployment returns; Prepares sales tax returns; Prepares year end payroll and accounts payable information returns (W2/W3, 1099/1096).

Qualifications:

Ability to anticipate the needs of clients by using effective problem solving skills.
Ability to balance multiple projects, organize and prioritize work within a budget.
Excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate clearly with a variety of people.
Ability to support time-based requests; able to function effectively in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment with deadlines and frequent interruptions
3 years accounting experience; 2 year accounting/bookkeeping degree a plus
Consulting or CPA Firm experience preferred or equivalent experience with multiple concurrent clients
Proficient in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks (desktop and on-line)
